Drone is a broad term that can refer to any unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) . Like the name implies, a UAV does not have a human pilot on-board. They are piloted by remote human operators or piloted autonomously by onboard/remote computers . Drones are also referred to as unmanned aerial systems (UAS), RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System), RPAV (Remotely Piloted Aerial Vehicle) or remote control (RC) model aircraft.
